Park Slope (Fifth Avenue)
5th Ave, Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY 11215Brooklyn Pride 2026 brings the borough's biggest LGBTQ+ celebration to Park Slope on Saturday, June 13, and it holds a special distinction as one of the only major Pride events in the country with a nighttime Twilight Parade. A full day of festivities runs along Fifth Avenue, from a morning 5K through Prospect Park to a daytime multicultural street festival and, after dark, the signature parade lighting up the avenue. The street festival fills Fifth Avenue with live music across multiple stages, drag performances, food, and more than a hundred vendors and community groups, drawing families, longtime locals, and first-timers alike. As dusk falls, the Twilight Parade steps off and marches up the avenue in a glow of lights and floats, a uniquely Brooklyn take on Pride that trades the midday sun for a warm summer evening. Held weeks before the Manhattan March, it is the perfect early-June kickoff to Pride season and a chance to celebrate in one of New York's most welcoming neighborhoods. A few local tips. Park Slope is easy to reach on the subway, with the F, G, and R lines stopping along the festival footprint and the 2, 3, B, and Q nearby. The daytime festival is free and family-friendly, while the evening parade draws a big, lively crowd, so stake out a curb spot on Fifth Avenue before step-off. Bring cash for vendors, water for the day, and a light layer for the evening parade. For a Pride that feels rooted in its community rather than its sponsors, Brooklyn Pride 2026 is a borough classic.
