Our Commitment
Out x Out exists to help LGBTQ+ travelers find spaces that feel like home — wherever they’re going. That mission only works if we hold ourselves to the same standards we ask of the venues, hotels, and partners we feature. This page is our public statement of those standards.
Zero Tolerance for Discrimination
Out x Out maintains a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression — across every part of our business. That includes how we treat readers and app users, how we vet venues and events for our directories, how we engage with sponsors and partners, and how we conduct ourselves in any future hiring.
We will not knowingly promote, partner with, or accept advertising from any business that discriminates against LGBTQ+ people on these grounds.
Your Point of Contact
If you experience or witness discrimination connected to anything Out x Out promotes — a venue we list, an event we feature, a partner we’ve recommended — you can reach our founder directly:
Robbie Slagerman, Founder — info@outxout.com
We take every report seriously and respond within five business days.
How We Handle Complaints
When you contact us about discrimination or a safety concern, here’s what happens:
- Acknowledgment within five business days, including who is handling your case.
- Investigation — we contact the venue or partner involved, gather information, and document what we find.
- Resolution — we share the outcome, whether that’s a corrected listing, a removed venue, or a referral to another resource. If a venue is removed from our platform for discriminatory practices, we’ll tell you.
- Follow-up — we check back to confirm the resolution worked for you.
You’re never required to share your name publicly, and we’ll never pass identifying details to the venue or partner without your explicit permission.
How We Show Up for the Community
Out x Out is a Minnesota-rooted company, and our founder has been part of LGBTQ+ and HIV/AIDS community work in the Twin Cities for nearly two decades. Recent and ongoing involvement includes:
- Annual Minnesota AIDS Walk — walked each year since 2007 to support HIV/AIDS programs across the state.
- Red Undie Run for the Aliveness Project — ran in December 2025 to support the Minneapolis nonprofit serving people living with HIV/AIDS.
- QueerSpace Collective — volunteered in January 2026 to create signs for the Stop ICE protests in support of LGBTQ+ immigrant community members.
Inclusive by Design
Inclusion isn’t something we add to Out x Out — it’s the entire point of Out x Out. Every blog post, newsletter, city guide, venue listing, and event recommendation is built for LGBTQ+ travelers, by an LGBTQ+ founder. Our editorial reflects the breadth of our community: trans-affirming spaces, lesbian bars, drag scenes, sober-friendly events, and travel for queer families — not just gay-bar nightlife.
We commit to representing that full breadth in our work and continuing this approach as the team grows.
