Part of the Gay Chicago Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Saturday, October 31, 2026
The Haunted Halsted Halloween Parade is Northalsted's Halloween night costume parade up the middle of Chicago's gay village, run by the Northalsted Business Alliance. 2026 is its 30th anniversary, and it becomes an all-day affair: the Haunted Halsted Fest runs on Halsted from 11am, the parade steps off at Halsted & Belmont at 7pm and ends at Halsted & Brompton around 8pm, and the costume contest and after-party follow at 3514 N. Halsted until 10pm. The contest pays $4,000 across five categories ($500/$200/$100); entry is $5, contestants must be present to win, and watching is free for all ages.
