Morean Center for Clay
420 22nd St S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712Shades of Pride 2026 brings Juneteenth and Pride together on Friday, June 19, honoring the strength, brilliance, and beauty of St. Petersburg's Black LGBTQ+ community. This is the BIPOC-centered heart of St Pete Pride, and it lands at the Morean Center for Clay (420 22nd St S) from 7 PM to 10 PM. Expect an evening built around community, art, and performance rather than the wall-of-sound energy of the bigger weekend parties. The setting matters here. The Morean Center for Clay sits in the historic Deuces along the 22nd Street South corridor, one of the most storied Black neighborhoods in the city, so the location is part of the message. Plan for a warm, humid June night that can turn into a quick downpour without much warning, so a light layer or compact umbrella is smart even for an indoor-anchored event. Getting here is easy on Pride weekend, with the SunRunner BRT and PSTA buses running free and connecting downtown, Tropicana Field, and St. Pete Beach. Tickets and any updates are at stpetepride.org, so check there before you head out. If you have been doing the parade-and-party circuit all weekend, this is the one to slow down for. Come a little early, give yourself time to actually talk to people, and treat it as a chance to learn the history of the Deuces while you are standing in it. Many St Pete Pride events benefit the organization, so showing up is also a way to support the people doing the work. It is the meaningful, community-rooted alternative to the big nights out, and it tends to leave the deepest impression.
