Capitol Hill (17th Avenue)
17th Ave & Franklin St, Denver, CO 80218The Vizzy Denver Pride Parade 2026 steps off Sunday, June 28, at 9:30 a.m., marching west along 17th Avenue through Capitol Hill, Denver's historic gayborhood and the heart of the city's LGBTQ+ community since the 1970s. Organized by The Center on Colfax, it is the centerpiece of Denver Pride and draws huge, joyful crowds for floats, marching groups, drag performers, dance teams, and community organizations celebrating down the avenue. The parade stages at Cheesman Park and runs from 17th and Franklin Street west to 17th and Lincoln Street, wrapping up around 12:30 p.m. The finish line sits just one block from Denver PrideFest on 16th Street, so when the last float passes you can walk straight into the festival without missing a beat. For the best view, stake out a spot along 17th Avenue between Downing and Ogden for the biggest energy, or post up near Franklin by Cheesman Park where the floats step off and the crowds are thinner. A few local tips. Arrive by 8:30 a.m. for prime sidewalk space, because the front rows fill fast. Driving is a headache with street closures along 17th Avenue starting early, so take RTD light rail or rideshare and have your driver drop you a few blocks off the route. Denver's altitude makes the sun fierce, so wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat even on a partly cloudy morning, and bring water. The parade is free to watch from anywhere along the route and welcoming to all ages, making it the perfect start to Pride Sunday in the Mile High City.
