Steppenwolf 1700 Theater, Chicago
1700 N Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60614, United StatesFrom tiny Chicago company Derek Begrudgingly Presents — which stages play versions of movies — comes a drag-and-camp send-up of the early-2000s classic, landing at Steppenwolf's LookOut Series after two sold-out runs at Color Club and a runner-up nod in the Chicago Reader's Best New Play category. Expect drag, a live band, over-the-top acting, and giant DIY cardboard props reimagining Lizzie's Rome adventure — plus an answer to what ever happened to Miranda. Three performances only, July 10-11.
