Are There Lesbian Bars and Safe Spaces in Denver?
Denver is among the many U.S. cities that have lost their standalone lesbian bars — but queer-women's nightlife is still very much alive, just on the move.
Sapphic Collective
The Sapphic Collective is the engine of Denver's queer-women's scene. It ran The Pearl, the city's dedicated sapphic bar, until it closed in 2026 — and has since gone fully roving, hosting dance parties, themed nights, and pop-ups at venues across the metro. Expect events like Queer Fest during Pride month and themed parties throughout the year. Follow @sapphiccollectivee for the next date and location.
The Bar Scene
Denver does not currently have a standalone lesbian or sapphic bar. Blush & Blu, Colorado's longtime lesbian bar on East Colfax, closed in October 2024. The Pearl — which began as the Pearl Divers pop-up inside Your Mom's House on Capitol Hill and moved into the former Mercury Cafe space in Five Points — rose to fill the gap but closed in 2026 after about a year. Dedicated lesbian and sapphic bars are vanishing nationwide, with only about three dozen left in the entire U.S.
Other Queer Women's Spaces
- Lady Justice Brewing Company — A women- and queer-owned brewery in Englewood that donates 100% of taproom proceeds to nonprofits serving women, girls, and non-binary people. A welcoming daytime space for the queer women's community.
- The Sapphic Collective hosts events at venues across Denver year-round, including themed nights and Pride-season celebrations.
