How we build our service provider listings

Where listings come from

Most listings in this directory were built by us, not submitted by the provider. We research a city one industry at a time, working from the provider’s own website and other public sources, and write the listing from what those sources actually say.

A listing built that way is marked on its profile page as unclaimed, with the sourcing stated in plain language. The provider did not ask to be here, has not reviewed what we wrote, and has not paid us. When a provider claims their listing they can correct it, add photos, and write their own bio.

What we verify, and what we do not

We verify that the business or practitioner exists, works in the city we list them in, and is reachable at the contact details shown. Addresses and coordinates come from the provider’s published location.

We do not verify licences, certifications, insurance, or malpractice history. Where a profile shows credentials such as LCPC or DDS, those are read from the provider’s own published biography — we surface what they state about themselves, we do not independently confirm it. Check any licence with the relevant state board before you engage a professional.

We do not vet quality of service. Being listed here is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or a rating.

What "gay friendly" means here

We separate two things that get blurred everywhere else. Some providers are LGBTQ+ owned or LGBTQ+ identifying. Others are allies — people whose practice welcomes and is competent with LGBTQ+ clients without being LGBTQ+ owned.

We only describe a provider as LGBTQ+ owned when that is sourced and verifiable from something they have published themselves. Where it is not, the listing says gay friendly and means exactly that: this is somewhere our community can go without needing to explain themselves. It is the same discipline we apply to venues.

Who pays for what

Browsing is free and always will be. You never pay Out x Out to contact a provider, and we take no cut of any work you book with one.

Providers can pay for a listing. Paying does not buy a better position, a rating, or a claim we would not otherwise make — it buys the listing itself and the ability to manage it. Seeded listings are unpaid.

Some pages on Out x Out carry advertising or affiliate links. Provider listings are not among them.

Corrections and removals

If a listing is yours and something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. If a listing is yours and you do not want to be here, tell us and we will remove it — no questions, no retention pitch, no form to fill in first.

How often this is updated

Listings are re-checked as we expand a city and whenever someone reports a problem. Provider details change — people move practices, close books to new clients, or stop practising — so treat contact details as a starting point and confirm availability with the provider.
