Part of the Gay Edinburgh Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Edinburgh, Scotland
Gay bar, restaurant and club by the Playhouse, open until 3am nightly
CC Blooms has been on Greenside Place since 1994, right next door to the Edinburgh Playhouse at the top of Leith Walk, and it bills itself as Edinburgh's original gay bar. During the day it works as a bar and restaurant, with brunch and pre-theatre food and cocktails. Come nightfall it turns into a club, with DJs seven nights a week and the doors open until 3am every night. Drag is a big part of the programme. There are shows most weekends and a Sunday cabaret, Disgraceful, from 8pm, and the venue says it helped launch Lawrence Chaney. Entry to the upstairs bar and dance floor is free most nights, and big parties and guest shows are ticketed through Eventbrite.
