Play Dance Bar is Nashville's largest LGBTQ+ nightclub and the anchor of the Church Street gay district, where it's been since 2004. The draw is one of the city's biggest dance floors and the Play Mates, a resident drag cast that performs Wednesday through Sunday with multiple shows a night; touring RuPaul's Drag Race names roll through regularly. It runs as an 18-and-up room, which makes it a rare late-night option for the younger end of the crowd. The week has a rhythm of its own, from Wednesday College Night with free entry to a Sunday drag showcase, and the place has collected local "best dance floor" honors for years. Church Street is the spine of Nashville's gay nightlife, and Play is the room most crawls either start or end in. Expect a real club: big sound, late hours, and drag front and center.
