Bristol, England
LGBT+ nightclub with Monday karaoke and weekend club nights
Queenshilling is an LGBT+ nightclub on Frogmore Street, the city-centre strip it shares with OMG. On Instagram it calls itself an "award winning safe space", and the door policy is printed right there on its website: no racists, no homophobes, no arseholes. The regular week is short and easy to plan around. Monday is free karaoke, with doors at 9pm and singing from 10pm, and Friday and Saturday are club nights with doors at 10pm. The club asks you to make an effort with your outfit and says it sometimes turns away tracksuits and sportswear. It also runs regular fundraisers for local causes, including Brigstowe, the Bristol Bisons rugby club and youth groups at Pride, so a night out here often puts something back.
