Andersonville (Clark Street)
5200 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60640Andersonville Midsommarfest 2026 kicks off Chicago's Pride season June 12–14, transforming Clark Street into a three-day street festival with deep LGBTQ+ roots in one of the city's most welcoming Gay Friendly neighborhoods. Now in its 60th year, this beloved Andersonville tradition draws roughly 50,000 people to the stretch of Clark from Foster to Gregory for a weekend of live music, drag, food, and community. The festival runs Friday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m. Four stages keep the energy going all weekend, including the Balmoral Pride Stage with drag performers, cabaret, and DJs that reflect the neighborhood's long history as a hub for Chicago's gay community. Wander the strip and you'll find more than 100 artisan and craft vendors, international food from Andersonville's eclectic restaurants, a beer garden, and plenty of family-friendly corners during the daytime hours. Admission is free with a suggested $10 donation that supports the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce and local programming. Getting there is easy on the CTA — take the Red Line to Berwyn and walk a few blocks west, or hop the 22 Clark bus right to the action. Come hungry, bring cash for the vendors, and treat this as your warm-up for the bigger Pride weekend later in the month. For a lot of Chicagoans, Midsommarfest is the unofficial start of summer and the first big LGBTQ+ gathering of the season.
