17th St NW, Washington, DCThe 17th Street High Heel Race is one of Washington, D.C.’s most beloved LGBTQ+ traditions — a costumed drag dash down 17th Street NW in Dupont Circle held every year on the Tuesday before Halloween. Since 1986 it has drawn thousands of spectators for the costume promenade and the 9 PM race, hosted by the Mayor and produced by Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets.
