District Pier at The Wharf
District Pier, The Wharf, 101 District Sq SW, Washington, DC 20024Pride on the Pier 2026 kicks off Washington, D.C. Pride season on the waterfront on Saturday, June 13, from 4 to 9 p.m. at District Pier at The Wharf. Hosted by the Washington Blade, the city's LGBTQ+ newspaper, this free outdoor party has become the unofficial opener of Pride week, pairing skyline and river views with music, drinks, and a fireworks finale over the Washington Channel. The afternoon-into-evening party fills the pier with DJs, performances, vendors, and a festive, all-welcome crowd settling in by the water with the boats and the Southwest waterfront as a backdrop. There are bars and a VIP option, plenty of room to mingle, and the kind of relaxed, social energy that makes it an easy first stop of the season before the bigger parade weekend a week later. When the sun goes down, the fireworks over the channel send the night off in style. A few local tips. The Wharf sits along the Southwest waterfront, a short walk from the Waterfront Metro on the Green Line or the L'Enfant Plaza station, and rideshare drop-offs are easy along Maine Avenue. General admission is free and open to the public, with VIP tickets available if you want reserved space and perks, so you can simply show up or upgrade. Bring sunglasses and sunscreen for the open pier in the late-afternoon sun, and stake out a spot with a clear view of the water before the fireworks. As the waterfront opener of Capital Pride 2026 season, Pride on the Pier is a free, easy, scenic way to start.
