REI Co-op Denver (Platte Street)
1416 Platte St, Denver, CO 80202The REI + Denver Pride Training Run for Denver Pride 2026 hits the pavement Sunday, June 7, 2026, one of the free warm-up runs leading into the official Denver Pride 5K later in the month. Plan on a 7:30am to 10:30am window, with the group rolling out from the REI Co-op Denver flagship at 1416 Platte St. If you don't already know it, the REI flagship is the gorgeous old Denver Tramway Powerhouse on Platte Street, right at the edge of Confluence Park where Cherry Creek meets the South Platte. It's one of the prettiest places in the city to start a run, with the Cherry Creek and Platte River trails fanning out in every direction. This is a training run, not a race, so all paces are welcome. Walk it, jog it, or push the pace with the front group. Coaches and fellow runners are there to help you build toward the Pride 5K, and the vibe is relaxed and friendly rather than competitive. A couple of local notes. The event is free and family-friendly, so bring the kids, bring a friend, bring the dog if it's leash-trained for the trail. Parking around Platte Street fills fast on weekend mornings, so give yourself a buffer, or skip the car entirely. The run-friendly move is to take the trail in on foot or by bike from LoHi or downtown, since Confluence Park is the hub of Denver's whole path network. After you cool down, the coffee shops and patios along Platte and 15th Street are an easy two-minute walk for a well-earned recovery breakfast.
