RIOT! is the official Capital Pride opening party, launching Pride weekend on Friday, June 19, at Echostage, the largest nightclub in Washington, D.C. Presented by the Capital Pride Alliance, RIOT brings a big-room production and a marquee lineup to kick off the celebration, with a DJ set from Bob the Drag Queen and a performance by Myki Meeks setting the tone for the weekend ahead. This is the dance crowd's official starting line, a sweaty, euphoric night of pop and house on Echostage's massive floor and serious sound system. Expect lights, go-go energy, and a packed room of the D.C. LGBTQ+ community plus visitors who flew in for Pride. If you want one big produced party to open the weekend before the parade and festival, RIOT is the official choice, and a portion of the night supports Capital Pride programming. A few local tips. Echostage sits at 2135 Queens Chapel Road NE in the Ivy City area of Northeast D.C., which is a short rideshare from downtown and the Dupont and U Street nightlife corridors. There is on-site parking, but rideshare is the easy call for a late night. The party is 18 and over, so bring a valid photo ID, and tickets run roughly $39 to $69 and climb as the date nears, so buy in advance. Doors open in the evening and the night runs into the early morning, so pace yourself and hydrate. As the official opening party of Capital Pride 2026, RIOT is where the weekend truly begins.
