Part of the Gay Mobile Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Mobile, Alabama
Downtown Mobile's three-level gay nightclub with drag shows and sky bar.
B-Bob's Downtown has anchored LGBTQ+ nightlife on the Gulf Coast since 1992, and it's one of the oldest gay bars in the region. It moved from West Mobile to its current Conti Street address in 2002, and it's the only three-level nightclub in the city — each floor a different speed. The ground floor is for cocktails and a game of pool, the second floor is the dance floor and drag stage hosting local performers and visiting RuPaul's Drag Race queens, and the rooftop NxtLvl sky bar, added in 2022, pours craft cocktails over the downtown skyline. For a city Mobile's size, having all three under one roof makes B-Bob's the default hub — the place a night out downtown tends to start, and end. Founded by Jerry Ehlen, it remains the heartbeat of the local scene.
