Part of the Gay Mobile Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Mobile, Alabama
Casual patio bar with karaoke, part of the B-Bob's gay complex downtown.
Flip Side Bar & Patio is the easygoing counterpart to B-Bob's, part of the same downtown Mobile gay-nightlife operation that's been running since 1992. Flip Side is the more recent, laid-back lounge alternative to the main club — same ownership, different gear. It sits on South Conception Street, right on the Mardi Gras parade route, with a plant-lined covered patio where most of the real conversation happens. Where B-Bob's is the three-floor dance-and-drag complex, Flip Side is the spot to actually hear each other: karaoke nights, a relaxed crowd, and a Happy Hour register rather than a nightclub one. It's the low-key half of the B-Bob's pair, and the easier landing if you want a drink and a chat over a packed dance floor.
