Winnipeg's long-running gay bar with drag shows and karaoke on Garry Street
Club 200 has anchored Winnipeg's gay nightlife since 1988, which makes it one of the longest-running gay bars in Canada. The downtown room at 190 Garry Street is built around a big dance floor, with drag shows, DJs, and go-go dancers carrying the weekends, plus an attached restaurant for when the night needs a break from the floor. The crowd skews broad, 20s through 50s, regulars and newcomers mixed, and the draw has always been the lack of pretense: reasonable drink prices, rarely a steep cover, and a room that's been doing this long enough to know how to run a night. For travelers it's the dependable cornerstone of the local scene, the place still standing when newer spots have come and gone.
