Jax Bar & Kitchen opened in 2018 at 127 E. Calder Way, taking over the former Darkhorse Tavern location. It quickly made its mark as a casual, fun spot for college students, offering daily specials like beer-and-burger nights, sex trivia, wine Wednesdays, sports trivia, and themed drinks such as Fireball Fridays. However, Jax closed its doors in May 2024. The space is now undergoing renovation and rebranding under new ownership. Plans for a new concept are underway, but as of now, it is no longer operating as Jax Bar & Kitchen.
