Green Bay, Wisconsin
Wisconsin's oldest continuously operating gay bar, founded in 1982 and at its current Cedar Street location since 2000. Napalese is a bar, lounge, and grille — understated inside, with a stage for the monthly Ladies of the Lounge drag revue, a back room with pool tables (free on Thursdays), dart boards, and pinball. The patio has seasonal plantings and Green Bay's first LGBTQ+ mural, unveiled in 2021 with backing from the Mayor's Office and the Packers. The food program includes burgers ranked among Wisconsin's top 10. Four decades in, Napalese is Green Bay's queer community anchor — not a flashy destination, just a neighborhood bar that's been there for everyone who needed it.
