About Queermunity

Queermunity is a queer-run community space in Uptown Minneapolis that rolls a café, co-working space, resource center, and event venue into one — a daytime spot to get coffee and work, and a gathering place for workshops, markets, and community programming after hours. It sits on Hennepin above Magers & Quinn Booksellers and opened in late 2024, co-founded by Kayla Barth and Hilary Otey, who run it as a social enterprise rather than a nonprofit so they can reinvest revenue into free programming on their own terms. It is free and open to the public, with affordable co-working desks and rentable meeting and event space, and it is deliberately all-ages and sober-friendly — the kind of non-bar, non-nightlife queer space the Twin Cities scene had been missing. Come to work, to find resources, or for whatever is on the calendar.
