Madrid, Spain
Unpretentious Lavapiés sauna with a relaxed cruising crowd.
Sauna Lavapies sits on Calle de Zurita in Lavapies, one of Madrid's most diverse and genuinely queer neighborhoods, and it offers a more laid-back, unpretentious cruising experience than the city's glossier central saunas. Renovated in the late 2010s, it spreads across three floors with a bar, jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna, plus dark maze-like rooms and slings on the lower level and additional dark space upstairs. The crowd reflects the neighborhood: mixed in age, roughly 20s through late 40s, and body type, with an alternative, local, queerer edge rather than a body-conscious scene. Themed nights run from naked and lights-off sessions to discounted entry for under-25s. It's a relaxed, authentic option for men who'd rather connect than pose.
