Houston, Texas
Montrose restaurant and pool club with a Sunday drag brunch
The Montrose Country Club is a restaurant, cocktail bar and seasonal pool club on Tuam Street in Montrose, Houston, with a dining room, a courtyard and no membership required. Its signature for the community is Sunday Service, a drag brunch every Sunday with shows at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., hosted by Blackberri with a rotating weekly cast; reservations are strongly recommended. Beyond Sunday it's open Thursday through Saturday for dinner, cocktails and weekend brunch, and during pool season a separate day pass adds an afternoon by the water (pool admission is 21 and over). It's a Gay Friendly spot rather than a gay bar, and the Sunday brunch is the reason to go.
