Three-floor gay men's sauna in the city centre, open 24 hours at weekends
The Pipeworks is a gay men's sauna on Metropole Lane in the city centre, and the club describes itself as one of the UK's leading gay men's health and leisure clubs, designed for adult men. It's spread over three floors. The first floor has the locker room, a licensed café-bar, a steam room for 25, a spa pool for 30 and a smoking area. Upstairs there's a dry sauna, a maze, rest rooms, public and private theme rooms and a TV lounge, and the ground floor holds the premium cabins and a cinema room. Entry is £29, or £20 for members, and membership costs £9 a year (you join in person). Cabins cost extra, from £7 on weekdays. It opens at 11am, closing at 10pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and 11pm on Wednesday, and runs non-stop from 11am Friday until 11pm Sunday. Sunday is Naked Night from 6pm, and Sandyford runs free sexual health screening there on Wednesday afternoons.
