Oklahoma's oldest gay bar since 1972 — cash-only dive with a large patio
Established in 1972, Tramps is the oldest gay bar in Oklahoma and the oldest operating LGBTQ+ bar on Route 66 — the NW 39th Street strip it sits on doubles as a stretch of the historic highway. It's an unpretentious dive at heart: pool tables, darts, and a digital jukebox inside, with a large outdoor patio that does most of the social work, especially in warm months. Known for strong pours and a cash-only counter, it keeps a loyal neighborhood following alongside strip neighbors like The Boom and Phoenix Rising. Weekend drag shows turn up on the calendar, but Tramps' real draw is the everyone-knows-your-name regularity it's held for more than five decades. For a traveler it's the strip's sense of history in one room — the first stop to understand how long OKC's scene has been here.
