Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C.Capital Pride Weekend 2026 takes over Washington, D.C. on June 20 and 21, capping a full month of LGBTQ+ celebration with the Capital Pride Parade and the Capital Pride Festival and Concert on Pennsylvania Avenue. This is the big one, and 2026 carries the theme "Exist. Resist. Have the Audacity." There is a notable change this year. Capital Pride shifted from its traditional second weekend of June to the third weekend, giving the community its own clear space downtown amid the city's busy summer of national anniversary events. Saturday belongs to the parade, which steps off at 3 p.m. at 14th and T Streets NW and winds south through Logan Circle and downtown. The same day, the 17th Street Pride Block Party fills the historic Dupont gayborhood, while the official RIOT opening party and the KINETIC circuit weekend light up the nightlife. Sunday brings the free Festival and Concert along Pennsylvania Avenue, with a Capitol Stage headlined by Maren Morris plus Leikeli47, Lisa Lisa, and more. A few local tips from your D.C. friends. Skip the car, because street closures around 14th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue start early. Ride Metro to Dupont Circle, U Street, Mount Vernon Square, or Archives and walk in. June in D.C. is hot and sticky, so bring water, sunscreen, and a hat, and pack a light layer for evening parties that run past midnight. Then go celebrate the nation's capital at its proudest.
