The Chicago Urban Pride Picnic closes out Pride weekend on the South Side on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from noon to 8 p.m. in Jackson Park. Produced by Chicago Urban Pride, which has celebrated Black and Brown LGBTQ+ community for more than three decades, this free, all-day picnic is a vibrant alternative to the North Side parade crowds — a chance to gather, eat, and dance in the park with chosen family. The day brings the energy of Chicago's ballroom and house culture outdoors, with vogue battles, drag, dance teams, and live DJs keeping the party going from midday into the evening. It's welcoming, festive, and rooted in the communities that built Pride, hosted by South Side favorites and drawing a loyal, joyful crowd year after year. Bring your appetite and your dancing shoes — this is where a lot of Chicagoans land after a long, celebratory weekend. The picnic sets up near the basketball courts in Jackson Park, the historic Olmsted-designed green space in Woodlawn along the lakefront. Reach it via the CTA 6 Jackson Park Express bus, the Metra Electric line to 63rd Street, or rideshare to the park's Hayes Drive area. The event is free; bring a blanket or folding chairs, a cooler, sunscreen, and water for the full afternoon. As one of the final stops on the Chicago Pride 2026 calendar, the Urban Pride Picnic sends the season off with South Side flavor, community, and Black LGBTQ+ joy.
