Crockett Park (Tobin Hill)
1300 N Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78212The Krystal High Heel Race is one of San Antonio Pride's most joyfully absurd traditions — a footrace run in towering heels that is every bit as fun to watch as it is to attempt. Officially the Krystal Kelly Running of the Queens, it kicks off at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, just before the 9 p.m. Pride Bigger Than Texas Night Parade, so the crowd along The Strip is already buzzing and primed when the runners hit the pavement. The format is gloriously simple: lace up your tallest heels, line up, and sprint while a roaring crowd cheers you on. Spectating is completely free, and registration for runners is free too, opening up around the festival earlier in the day (a waiver is required, so sign up in advance if you can). It draws a wild mix of seasoned competitors, first-timers in borrowed stilettos, and plenty of people who are mostly there for the photos — and it sets the tone perfectly for the parade that follows 30 minutes later. The race runs in the heart of the Pride Cultural Heritage District on North Main Avenue, near Crockett Park where the Night Parade steps off, so plant yourself in that stretch and you are set for the whole evening. Wear something you can move in if you are racing, and remember the pavement is unforgiving — this is a save-your-ankles-for-later situation for everyone else. Rideshare in, since parking near The Strip disappears hours ahead, grab a drink at one of the bars lining the route, and stake out a spot early. It is a uniquely San Antonio moment you do not want to miss.
