Cricket Hill, Montrose Beach
Cricket Hill, 601 W Montrose Ave, Chicago, IL 60613Pride Bowl Chicago 2026 brings LGBTQ+ flag football to the lakefront from Thursday, June 25, through Saturday, June 27, on the Cricket Hill fields at Montrose Beach. Organized by the Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association, it's one of the largest gay sports tournaments in the Midwest and a high-spirited, welcoming way to spend Pride weekend outdoors with the lake and the skyline as a backdrop. Teams from across the country descend on the Montrose Beach fields for three days of competitive and social flag football, but you don't have to lace up to take part — spectating is free, and the sidelines turn into a rolling tailgate of music, cheering, and community. It's a great spot to bring a blanket, a cooler, and a crew, soak up the sun, and watch some genuinely good football among Chicago's gay and Gay Friendly athletes. Cricket Hill sits along the lakefront between Montrose and Wilson; the closest landmark for rideshares and parking is the Montrose Beach lot near 601 W Montrose Ave, and the CTA 78 Montrose bus connects from the Wilson Red Line stop. Bring sunscreen, water, and layers, since the lakefront breeze can flip from hot to cool fast. Sponsor bars including Sidetrack and Whiskey Girl traditionally welcome players and fans after play wraps, so the celebration carries on into the night. It's an active, social, distinctly Chicago way to launch the final stretch of Pride 2026.
