Where Can I Find Drag Shows in Chicago?

Chicago has produced some of the biggest names in drag — Shea Coulee, Trixie Mattel, Kim Chi, and numerous other RuPaul's Drag Race stars. The city offers drag shows every night of the week.

Top Drag Venues

  • Kit Kat Lounge & Supper Club (3700 N Halsted St) is Chicago's most iconic drag show venue. The Kit Kat Divas perform nightly dinner shows featuring classic cabaret and female impersonation. On weekends, they host themed drag brunches (Wizard of Oz, Moulin Rouge, Icons of Pop). Reservations recommended.
  • Roscoe's Tavern (3356 N Halsted St) hosts Roscoe's Drag Race every Tuesday — the city's longest-running weekly amateur drag competition. It regularly features guest judges from RuPaul's Drag Race and is a launchpad for local talent.
  • Hydrate Nightclub (3458 N Halsted St) features drag performances and revues early in the evening (including Freshman 15 and weekly shows like Ruff 'N Stuff), then transitions to a full dance club with DJs after 11 PM.
  • LIPS Drag Show Palace (2229 S Michigan Ave, South Loop) is a dedicated drag dinner theater — the only full "LaCage" experience in Chicago. Features nightly dinner-and-show packages, a popular Sunday Gospel Drag Brunch with unlimited cocktails, and interactive events like Bitchy Bingo.

The Baton Show Lounge Legacy

The legendary Baton Show Lounge, founded in 1969 and home to the iconic Miss Continental Pageant, was sold in 2025. Its famed drag shows are being incorporated into a new venue that will also house the Chicago Eagle leather bar — keeping the tradition alive.
