Chappell Roan Is Throwing a Two-Night Drag Spectacular in LA for Trans Youth
The Super Graphic Spectacular takes over the Shrine October 21–22, with Roan headlining both nights — and the ticket registration window closes Tuesday.
Chappell Roan has kept a low profile this year. Her Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things tour closed out in March with a final show in São Paulo, and she hasn't released new music since 2025's "The Giver" and "The Subway." So when she resurfaced Friday, it wasn't with a single — it was with a party.
The Super Graphic Spectacular is a two-night benefit at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on October 21 and 22, put on by Roan and her nonprofit, The Midwest Princess Project. Both nights build to a headline set from Roan herself, with drag performers, comedians, musicians, and unannounced guests filling out the bill. "It will be filled with drag, dance, guests, surprises, and funnnn!! I will be doing a special performance as well!" she wrote in her Instagram announcement.
The event doubles as a first-birthday party for the nonprofit. Roan launched The Midwest Princess Project in 2025 to support trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities, and according to the event's site, as Rolling Stone reported, it "has raised over $800,000, and has uplifted over 60 organizations working to make the world healthier, happier, and safer for LGBTQ+ people everywhere."
Here's the part that matters if you want in: tickets don't go on sale the usual way. Registration is open now and closes Tuesday, August 11 at 8:59 p.m. PT, with ticket purchasing running in waves August 18–20 — Roan's site has the details. Roan says the system — AXS's Fair AXS — exists "to help get rid of bots and scalpers." The outlets describe the middle step differently: Billboard and the Los Angeles Daily News report a selection step, with chosen registrants invited to buy, while Variety's version is that nobody gets filtered out — sign up in time and you can buy. Either way, Fair AXS replaces a traditional on-sale — so if you want in, register by Tuesday night.
One honest heads-up, straight from Roan: "We have priced the tickets higher than usual for charity."
Her only other announced date before then is Olivia Rodrigo's sold-out, all-women Daisy Chain Fields festival in Irvine on August 29. After that, the Shrine gets two nights of drag, comedy, and whatever Roan means by "surprises." We'd bet on wigs.
