Neapolitan wood-fired pizza in a restored 1920s downtown building
Bavaro's is a Neapolitan pizzeria and pasta restaurant occupying a renovated 1920s historic building on Fletcher Avenue in downtown Sarasota. Founded by Dan Bavaro in 2009, the kitchen utilizes a 100-year-old Neapolitan yeast culture and wood-fired brick ovens imported from Stefano Ferrara in Naples. Pizzas are baked at 900°F to produce a thin, soft-centered crust, served alongside a menu of house-made scratch pastas and Italian small plates. The space includes a large covered outdoor dining patio, and a daily happy hour runs from 3pm to 6pm on weekdays.
