Private-membership gay men's RV park and campground on 40 central-Florida acres since 2002
Camp Mars is a private-membership RV park and campground for gay men on 40 acres of meadows and oak hammocks in Highlands County, in the middle of the Florida peninsula between Sarasota and Lake Okeechobee. It has served the gay community since 2002 and marked its 24th anniversary in October 2026. The office is open daily, and the camp does not post a closing season. Annual membership is $25 on the rate sheet effective April 1, 2026. Tent sites have 15-amp electric, RV sites run 30 and 50 amps, and rentals include cabins, cottages, park trailers, a mini sleep cabin and a yurt. The 2026 rates list tent sites at $25 on weekdays and $30 on weekends, RV sites from $45 to $60 on weekdays and $50 to $65 on weekends, monthly RV stays at $850 to $900, and cabins from $50 to $160 a night for one or two people, with $15 per extra person and a $10 pet fee in rentals. A day pass is $10, from 10 AM to 6 PM with arrival before 4 PM. Life at camp centers on the recreation hall and the pool, with outings to nearby Lake June for sailing, paddle boards and kayaks, group motorcycle rides, Friday night bingo and campfires when burn bans allow. The autumn calendar runs Oktober Leather Fest, a country weekend, a Halloween pet parade and Halloween weekend. Pets are allowed.
