Savannah, Georgia
Queer-owned artisan chocolatier by CIA-trained Adam Turoni on Bull Street
Chocolat by Adam Turoni's shop at 236 Bull Street is known as The Chocolate Library, where handmade truffles and bonbons sit on bookshelves behind glass like rare volumes. Adam Turoni, a queer chocolatier trained at the Culinary Institute of America, founded the business in Savannah in 2011 with co-founder Alexandra Trujillo de Taylor, and opened this Bull Street location in 2015 as a second shop to the original on Broughton Street. The work leans Southern and small-batch: truffles in flavors like Georgia Peach, Mint Julep, and Red Velvet, plus a gold-dusted honeycomb bar that has become the signature. The honeycomb earned a Southern Living food award, and Dessert Professionals named Turoni one of the top ten chocolatiers in North America. It's a queer-owned sweet stop worth a detour while wandering the historic district.
