Columbus, Ohio
Piano and cocktail bar in an 1880s Victorian near the Brewery District.
Club Diversity is a queer-owned piano bar and cocktail lounge set inside an 1880s Victorian home near Columbus's Brewery District, on South High Street. The house was built for a local brewing-era brewmaster and converted into the bar in the early 2000s, and the layout still reads like a home: multiple rooms with fireplaces, intimate corners for conversation, and a rear patio with covered gazebos. The effect is a house party more than a nightclub. The signature pour is the Chocolate Martini, and the entertainment leans live and low-key — piano and acoustic sets on Thursdays, karaoke midweek and on Sundays, and a recurring community potluck. It's the room to choose when you want to actually hear the person across the table, a contrast to the louder Short North bars across town, and an easy anchor for an early, cocktail-forward night.
