Stonewall Columbus Pride Festival — June 19-20 (Goodale Park)
The Stonewall Columbus Pride Festival is the centerpiece of the weekend. Held in Goodale Park on the southern edge of Victorian Village (and a five-minute walk from the Short North), it's been the city's main Pride gathering for more than 40 years.
The festival sprawls across the park's pavilion, lawns, and tree-lined paths with multiple stages, vendor rows, food trucks, a community resource fair, family zones, and beer gardens. With 700,000+ visitors across the two days, it's the largest free Pride festival in the Midwest.
What to Expect
- Two stages featuring a mix of national headliners, local drag performers, and DJ sets.
- Resource Fair with 200+ booths from LGBTQ+ nonprofits, health organizations, advocacy groups, and queer-owned businesses.
- Food vendors spanning Columbus's deep food scene — from Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams to Latin food trucks to Goodale Park staples.
- Family Pride Network area with kid-friendly activities, drag story hours, and shaded family zones.
- Beer gardens with local Ohio breweries; ID required.
- Free entry — donations support Stonewall Columbus year-round.
Logistics
- Dates: June 19-20, 2026
- Hours: Friday 4 PM - 10 PM | Saturday 11 AM - 8 PM
- Location: Goodale Park (1 block west of High Street, between Buttles Ave and Goodale St)
- Cost: Free
- Getting there: Walk from anywhere in the Short North or Victorian Village. From downtown, it's a 15-minute walk up High Street or a quick rideshare.
Pro Tip
The shadiest spots fill fast on Saturday afternoons. Stake out a tree on the west side of Goodale Park if you want a base camp for the day — close to vendors, restrooms, and the main stage but out of direct sun.
Pro Tip
Friday night at the festival is the locals' favorite — smaller crowd, cooler weather, and the same lineup of food, vendors, and stages without the parade-day crush.
Columbus Pride March — June 20, 2026
The Stonewall Columbus Pride March is one of the largest in the Midwest, with more than 200 marching contingents and crowds lining all of High Street between downtown and Victorian Village. The 2026 theme is "Until We're All Free."
March Route
The march steps off from Broad & High Streets in front of the Ohio Statehouse and proceeds north up High Street, the city's main thoroughfare, ending at Goodale Park where the festival is in full swing.
- Start: Broad & High Streets (Ohio Statehouse, downtown)
- North on High Street through the Convention District
- North on High Street under the iconic Cap at Union Station
- Through the heart of the Short North Arts District — past the rainbow archways, bars, galleries, and restaurants
- End: Goodale Park entrance at Goodale & High
The route runs roughly 1.5 miles and takes about 2.5-3 hours for all 200+ contingents to pass any given point.
Best Viewing Spots
- High Street between Spring & Goodale — The Short North heart of the route. Patios, bars, and the rainbow archways make this the most photogenic stretch. Arrive by 9:30 AM for a curbside spot.
- High Street between Long & Spring — Slightly less packed than the Short North core, with sidewalk space along the Convention Center side. Good for families.
- Broad & High at the start — Early in the march, lighter crowds, and you'll catch every contingent at full energy.
- Goodale & High (end of route) — Quieter, easier to grab a curb, and you're already at the festival when the march wraps.
Where People Gather and When
- 8-9 AM: Locals start staking out spots along the Short North stretch of High Street. Bring a blanket or low chair.
- 9-10 AM: Pride on High and other ticketed viewing parties open their gates.
- 10:30 AM: March steps off from Broad & High.
- 11 AM: The front of the march reaches the Short North.
- 11 AM - 1 PM: Peak march energy along High Street.
- 1-3 PM: March continues to wrap up at Goodale Park; festival is at full swing.
- 3 PM-late: Crowds flow into Short North bars, restaurants, and afterparties.
March Day Tips
- Arrive early. The march steps off at 10:30 AM, but prime sidewalk spots in the Short North fill by 9:30 AM.
- Hydrate and use sun protection. June in Columbus runs mid-80s with high humidity; bring water, sunscreen, and a hat.
- Wear comfortable shoes. The route is concrete, and you'll be on your feet for hours.
- Skip driving downtown. High Street and surrounding streets close hours before step-off. Park further out and walk in, or use rideshare.
- Bring a portable charger. Cell service can lag in dense crowds and you'll be navigating, taking photos, and meeting up with friends all day.
- Carry some cash. Helpful for vendors and tipping drag performers at festival stages.
- Premium viewing option: Pride on High is the city's main ticketed parade-watching event, with shaded patio space, food, drinks, private restrooms, and a celebrity-judging stage. See the section below.
Pro Tip
For peak march energy, claim a spot on High Street between Russell and Goodale by 9:30 AM. For a calmer, family-friendly experience, head closer to Broad & High at the start of the route.
Pride on High — Premium March Viewing
After two years on hiatus, Pride on High returns in 2026 as the marquee ticketed march-viewing experience in the Short North. It runs along the entire block of High Street between Goodale and Poplar, with patio space across Hyde Park Steakhouse, Parlay Sporting Club + Kitchen, and El Vaquero.
What's Included
- Premium curbside views of the march from shaded patio space
- Beverages and food from the host venues
- Private restrooms (no festival porta-potties)
- Hour-long live performance from Virginia West and the West Family
- Celebrity judges' stage featuring Colleen Marshall (NBC4), Amber Knicole (Mojoflo), and Ms. Virginia West
- Live broadcast — NBC4 streams the event
Logistics
- Date: Saturday, June 20, 2026
- Gates open: 9:30 AM
- Location: High Street between Goodale and Poplar (Short North)
- Tickets: Sales open Friday, May 8, 2026; close at noon EDT on Friday, June 19. Buy in advance — gate prices are higher and tickets sell out.
- Beneficiaries: Equitas Health Mozaic, Kaleidoscope Youth Center, Columbus College of Art & Design, Stonewall Columbus, and the Human Rights Campaign
Buy tickets and check the latest details at prideonhigh.com.
Pro Tip
Pride on High tickets sold out in 2023 — the last year it ran. Don't wait until June. Buy as soon as sales open on May 8 if you want guaranteed shaded curbside space.
Other Pride Week Events
Pride in Columbus stretches well beyond the headline weekend. These are the other events worth building into your trip.
Stonewall Columbus Pride Brunch — June 7
The annual fundraiser brunch is one of the city's most popular Pride kickoffs. Expect drag performances, a live auction, awards, and a who's-who of Columbus LGBTQ+ leaders. Tickets sell out in advance — check stonewallcolumbus.org for venue and pricing.
Pride Interfaith Prayer Service — June 16
A multi-faith service welcoming LGBTQ+ people of all spiritual traditions. A quieter, reflective Pride event hosted by Columbus's faith-affirming congregations.
Columbus Pride Bar Crawl — June 20
A ticketed, multi-bar crawl through the Short North on Saturday afternoon, typically running 4 PM to 10 PM after the march wraps. Drink specials, themed stops, and a built-in crew if you're traveling solo.
Stonewall Drag Race — June 27
The closing event of Pride Month — a 5K race featuring drag performers, costumes, and post-race performances. Family-friendly during the day, with afterparties spilling into Short North bars.
Bat-N-Rouge
The campy drag softball game between local LGBTQ+ teams typically lands the day after the parade at Dodge Park. Confirm 2026 details on Stonewall Columbus or Columbus Pride events on Out x Out.
Columbus Community Pride
Columbus Community Pride is the city's grassroots, BIPOC-led alternative Pride celebration, founded in 2018 after the Black Pride 4 incident. It's organized primarily by Black and trans activists, accepts no corporate sponsorships, and centers queer and trans people of color. Events include a series of free gatherings throughout the summer and a free outdoor festival in the fall. Check columbuscommunitypride.org for 2026 dates.
Pro Tip
Columbus Community Pride is held separately from Stonewall Columbus Pride, with a different mission and politics. Many locals participate in both — and supporting the grassroots fall festival is a meaningful way to deepen your connection to queer Columbus beyond the headline weekend.
Best Pride Parties and Nightlife
Pride weekend in Columbus runs through the Short North after the march and ripples out across the city's other LGBTQ+ neighborhoods. These are the bars and clubs to prioritize when planning your nights.
Short North (Walking Distance to the Festival)
- Axis Nightclub — The biggest gay club in Columbus, with a massive multi-room dance floor, drag shows, and headlining DJs all weekend. Pride weekend events sell out — buy advance tickets for any ticketed shows.
- Union Cafe — The Short North's beloved gay restaurant-bar with a huge patio, brunch service, and a mixed crowd that ranges from after-work cocktails to late-night dancing. The patio is one of the best spots in the city to spend a Pride afternoon.
- Local Bar Short North — Casual neighborhood bar a few blocks from Goodale Park, perfect for a cold beer between festival stages or before heading to the dance floor.
- Stonewall Columbus — Not a bar, but the LGBTQ+ community center sits right on High Street and runs Pride programming, art shows, and resource events all weekend. Worth a stop.
Beyond the Short North
The Pride party scene extends across Columbus's other queer pockets — south side, German Village, Olde Towne East, and west side. These bars are worth a rideshare when you want a different vibe.
- District West — The west side's main LGBTQ+ club, with drag shows, dance nights, and a loyal community crowd. Pride weekend brings expanded hours and special programming.
- Slammers — Columbus's longstanding lesbian-leaning bar downtown, with karaoke, themed nights, and a community-first atmosphere. A must-visit for Pride weekend.
- AWOL Bar — Olde Towne East dive bar with a leather/bear lean, strong drinks, and the kind of unpretentious queer regulars who'll know your name by the second visit.
- Toolbox — South-side bear and leather bar with patio, pool tables, and a dedicated weekend crowd. Pride weekend leans heavy into themed nights.
- Tremont Lounge — German Village's longtime lesbian-friendly bar with a cozy, neighborhood feel and one of the city's deepest queer histories. Great if you want a slower, conversational night.
- Boscoe's — Far west-side bar with a loyal crowd, themed nights, and karaoke. Worth the rideshare if you want to skip the Short North crowds.
- Bossy Grrl's Pin Up Joint — Northwest-side femme- and lesbian-leaning bar with vintage pin-up decor, strong drinks, and a tight-knit regular crowd.
Daytime Activities and Recovery
Pride weekend isn't only about nightlife. Build in some daytime culture and recovery.
- The Short North Arts District — Galleries, queer-owned shops, brunch spots, and the rainbow archways along High Street. Great for a slow morning walking tour.
- Goodale Park itself — Even outside festival hours, the park is one of the prettiest in Columbus. Bring coffee from a Short North cafe and post up on the lawn.
- Queerencia — Queer-owned shop in the Short North with curated apparel, gifts, and Pride merchandise.
- Out of the Closet - Columbus — Thrift shop with proceeds supporting AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Solid Pride wardrobe finds.
- Two Dollar Radio Headquarters — Independent bookstore-cafe-bar in the Brewery District with a strong queer literature section and indie vibes.
- Drag brunches — Union Cafe, Boscoe's, and several Short North restaurants run drag brunches throughout Pride weekend. Reservations strongly recommended.
Plan Your Columbus Pride Weekend
Save the march route, find afterparties in the Short North, and discover queer Columbus beyond Pride weekend — all in one place.
Where to Stay for Columbus Pride
Pride weekend is one of Columbus's busiest hotel weekends. Book 3-5 weeks in advance for the best rates and availability — especially anywhere walkable to the Short North.
Best Neighborhoods to Stay
Short North Arts District
The single best place to base yourself for Pride. You can walk to the festival, the march, every major bar, and the best restaurants in the city. Hotel inventory is limited, so prices climb fast for Pride weekend — book early or look at downtown as a backup.
Downtown / Capitol Square
A short walk or quick rideshare from the Short North, with the deepest hotel inventory in Columbus. Hotel LeVeque, the Westin Great Southern, and several Hilton and Holiday Inn properties are all here. The march steps off downtown, so you can walk to the start without ever needing transit.
Victorian Village
Quieter, residential neighborhood adjacent to Goodale Park. Mostly Airbnbs and vacation rentals rather than hotels. Excellent if you want a calmer home base and you're traveling with a group.
German Village / Brewery District
South of downtown with historic brick streets, restaurants, and a few boutique hotels. About a 10-minute rideshare to the Short North; great for travelers who prefer a slower neighborhood feel.
Hotels Near the Action
Columbus has a strong selection of LGBTQ+-friendly hotels at every price point. For Pride weekend, compare options early and lock in refundable rates when possible.
- Hotel LeVeque, Autograph Collection — Premium downtown property in the historic LeVeque Tower with skyline views. Walking distance to the march start at Broad & High.
- The Westin Great Southern Columbus — Historic downtown hotel with classic architecture and a quick walk to the march start.
- Holiday Inn Columbus Downtown - Capitol Square — Solid mid-tier downtown option, walkable to both the march and the Short North.
- Holiday Inn Express Columbus Downtown — Budget-friendly downtown property with reliable rates and an easy walk to the march start.
- Home2 Suites by Hilton Columbus Downtown — Suite-style hotel with kitchenettes; good for groups or longer stays during Pride weekend.

Airbnb and Vacation Rentals
For Victorian Village, the Short North, and German Village, Airbnb and vacation rentals are excellent for groups and longer stays. Look for listings within walking distance of High Street. Short North rentals routinely sell out 6+ weeks before Pride, so plan ahead.
Pro Tip
Book your stay in the Short North or downtown at least 3-5 weeks before Pride. If hotel inventory is gone, expand your search to German Village or the Brewery District — both are a quick rideshare to the action.
Getting There and Getting Around
Flying In
John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) is 20 minutes from downtown by car. There's no rail link — rideshare ($25-35) or COTA's AirConnect bus are your best options.
COTA (Public Transit)
COTA buses run High Street and connect downtown, the Short North, and Victorian Village. The CBUS and #2 lines run the High Street corridor. Pride weekend traffic and street closures will reroute or pause some service — check the COTA app for live updates on march day.
Rideshare
Uber and Lyft operate throughout the city. Expect significant surge pricing during and after the march (roughly 2-4x normal rates). Set your pickup or dropoff a few blocks east or west of High Street to avoid closed streets and find a faster match.
Walking and Biking
Downtown, the Short North, and Victorian Village are all walkable from one another — the entire stretch from Broad & High to Goodale Park is about 1.5 miles. CoGo bikeshare stations are positioned throughout the route if you want to skip the walk.
Parking
Driving to Pride events is strongly discouraged. High Street and the surrounding grid close hours before step-off, and Short North parking is limited even on a normal Saturday. If you must drive:
- Park at a downtown garage (the Greater Columbus Convention Center garage is a good option) and walk in.
- Avoid trying to park in the Short North on march day — it won't happen.
- Many hotels include parking; confirm rates in advance, since Pride weekend often comes with surcharges.
Pro Tip
The closer to Goodale Park you try to drive, the more frustrating your day gets. Park downtown or take a rideshare to the edge of the closure zone, then walk in.
