Part of the Gay Chicago Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Chicago, Illinois
Blue Island's LGBTQ+ club with drag, Latin nights, and weekend DJs.
Club Krave is the gay bar of Chicago's far south side, on Western Avenue in suburban Blue Island. It fills a real gap — the only dedicated LGBTQ+ nightlife spot for miles, pulling a diverse, often Latino crowd from across the south suburbs who'd otherwise face a long haul north to the city's gay neighborhoods. The programming leans hard on entertainment: monthly drag shows, Latin-themed nights spanning cumbia, salsa, merengue, reggaeton and Spanish rock, plus DJs, weekend go-go dancers, and karaoke. A separate VIP room with its own bar handles private parties. It's a destination bar rather than a walk-in local — worth the drive if you're on the South Side and want a full night out without crossing the whole city.
