Columbus, Ohio
River South drag performance bar from Virginia West and family.
District West is a drag performance bar in downtown Columbus's River South district, built around a runway stage with full lighting and projection. It's the house that Virginia West built — the veteran entertainer (and drag mother of RuPaul's Drag Race alum Nina West) programs a rotating lineup of queens, kings, and variety acts most nights, with pageant competitions and themed dance parties across the year. It opened in September 2020 in the former Score Bar space, just behind Slammers on Long Street. The crowd skews toward show-goers who come for the performances rather than a dance-floor crush, which gives the room a warmer, theater-like feel than a straight-up nightclub. For a visitor, it's the spot to catch serious local drag with a genuine sense of lineage behind it. Shows run Thursday through Sunday, and Sunday Funday drops the cover for games and a casual hang.
