Historic Beverly Grove gym with gay roots, spa & sauna since 1938
One of LA's oldest gyms, co-founded in 1938 by Harvey Easton and Jack LaLanne. The Beverly Grove location — a block from West Hollywood — draws a mixed gay and straight membership that's been the gym's character for decades. Exposed brick walls, a rooftop patio, and private parking (rare in LA) set it apart from chain competitors. Equipment covers cardio through Olympic lifting, plus group classes from yoga to kickboxing. Sauna, steam room, and towel service come with the membership. Harvey's Cafe sits next door for post-workout fuel.
