Operating since 1983 on Rue Saint-Jean, Fou-Bar is a historic fixture of Québec City's Saint-Jean-Baptiste quarter. While not exclusively a gay bar, its location in the city's LGBTQ+ commercial heart and its 'come-as-you-are' philosophy have made it a favorite gathering spot for the queer community for over 40 years. The rustic, cottage-style interior hosts a high-brow cultural calendar featuring weekly live jazz on Tuesdays, art exhibits, and literary readings. During quieter hours, the space remains a local hangout for foosball, darts, and conversation.
