Provincetown, Massachusetts
Kettlebell group fitness studio named after Provincetown's outlaw past
Helltown Fitness is a kettlebell-based group fitness studio named after Provincetown's historic nickname — a 1600s fishing settlement known for its outlaws, smugglers, and loose morals. Co-founded in 2023 by Andrew Brennan (former US National Rowing Team, bronze at Worlds), Matt Ganas, and Tim Bish (Broadway dancer turned acupuncturist and certified men's coach), the studio runs three class formats: Shred (metabolic conditioning), Strength (heavy kettlebells, Turkish get-ups, time under tension), and a 3.1-mile Run Club through Provincetown streets. Classes are held at the Gifford House's Wilde Room on Bradford Street, capped small, and scalable for any fitness level. Tim Bish openly frames his coaching as serving his queer community, and the studio's tagline — "Come for the pump, stay for the play" — reads exactly the way it sounds.
