Wichita, Kansas
Gay dive bar with pool, darts, and Monday karaoke since 1999
J's Lounge is Wichita's gay dive bar, tucked just east of the Old Town district on Central Avenue. The room is built for regulars: a pool table, darts, a digital jukebox, flat screens, and a heated patio that keeps the outdoor space usable most of the year. As one of the handful of gay bars in Wichita, it draws a loyal, low-key crowd, a mix of the LGBTQ+ community and their straight friends who come for cheap drinks and no pretense. Karaoke is the signature draw, widely called the best in town, and the bar fills out the week with pool tournaments, daily drink specials, and theme nights. If XY is the dance floor, J's is the corner stool, the place you come to actually talk to people.
