Gay sauna with pool and hammam near Gambetta in the 20th
Le Riad is a gay sauna in the 20th arrondissement, near Gambetta metro in the Ménilmontant quarter, east of the center and well away from the Marais, which keeps it more local than touristy. It opened in 2000 and spreads across 400 square meters on two floors, decorated in the style of a traditional Moroccan riad. Facilities include a swimming pool, a Finnish dry sauna, a hammam, private cabins, and a bar that serves mint tea in keeping with the theme. Professional massage is available in private rooms. Men-only and 18-plus, it draws a mixed crowd and tends to be calmer and more relaxed than the central saunas. For travelers staying in the east of the city, or anyone who'd rather soak away from the busier Montparnasse and Marais venues, it's worth the short trip out to Gambetta.
