Atlanta, Georgia
Atlanta's most exciting new LGBTQ+ venue, born from a collaboration between two of the city's most beloved nightlife forces: NonsenseATL (Kimberly Turner and Scott Lockhart, throwing diverse, inclusive dance parties since 2008) and WUSSY (Jon Dean, who's been championing queer art, culture, drag, and nightlife since 2015). Opened in spring 2025 in the former Corner Tavern space on Edgewood Avenue, Lore occupies about 4,200 square feet across two floors — a downstairs bar with cabaret-style cocktail lounge, small stage, and a mammoth disco ball named Lola (previously used in a fight scene in the Marvel show Echo — she still has the scar), and an upstairs event space with a cavernous dance floor, full club lighting, and a BASSBOSS sound system that hits clear and loud without overwhelming. The programming is relentless and eclectic: The Other Show (drag cabaret hosted by Edie Cheezburger, Fridays), Amen (drag show with Taylor ALXNDR, Wednesdays), Tossed Salad (Brigitte Bidet's Sunday drag show), NonsenseATL dance parties, Dayclubber (Saturday afternoon club with blackout blinds, 4–9 PM), monthly tea dances, karaoke nights, burlesque, comedy, and things you wouldn't expect — like a biweekly Bring Your Own Craft Night and pitch-a-friend IRL dating events. Cocktails and Mingle Mocktails available. The owners are uncompromising about who this space is for: queer people, trans people, women, people of color, and anyone from a marginalized community who needs a place to feel safe, heard, and celebrated.
