Part of the Gay Anchorage Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Anchorage, Alaska
Anchorage's main gay venue with drag shows and nightly karaoke
Mad Myrna's has been the heart of LGBTQ+ nightlife in Anchorage for more than 25 years, a show lounge on East 5th Avenue that functions as Alaska's main stage for drag and queer performance. The space runs two bars, two dance floors, two pool tables, and a professional stage, with a kitchen serving food on weekends. Its signature is the DIVAS Variety Show, a drag revue staged every Friday and Saturday night, with karaoke filling several other nights of the week. Recently remodeled and 21+, it's less a dive than a proper performance venue, the place locals bring out-of-town friends and where much of Anchorage's drag community came up. For a traveler this far north, it's the anchor of the city's small but committed scene, about a block from The Raven on 4th. Reservations are taken for the stage shows.
