Atlanta, Georgia
Atlanta's enduring lesbian bar with drag, dancing, and nightly shows.
My Sister's Room is Atlanta's lesbian bar. Opened in 1996, lesbian-owned and operated, it's the longest-running lesbian bar in Georgia and one of only a few dozen left in the country. Forced to relocate several times as Midtown redeveloped around it, MSR landed in 2022 at its current two-story, 8,000-square-foot home on Crescent Avenue, blocks from Piedmont Park. The larger space made room for a full calendar: drag and burlesque, comedy, karaoke, and weekend dance parties across two floors, plus a kitchen locals rate for its wings. The crowd is women-centered but everyone's welcome, and the room swings from low-key weeknight hang to packed dance night depending on what's booked. For queer women visiting Atlanta, it's the anchor of the scene and worth building a night around.
