North Brewing's Timberlea taproom with small-batch exclusives and a full food menu.
North Brewing's Timberlea taproom is a 60-seat restaurant and retail shop about 15 minutes west of downtown Halifax, with its own small brewing system for location-exclusive small-batch beers. The main brewery started in 2013 in Dartmouth — co-founders Rozina Darvesh, Peter Burbridge, and Josh Herbin began with 300-litre batches brewed in lobster-cooking pots. The Timberlea location opened in 2022 with a full food menu of burgers, wings, sandwiches, and salads alongside the tap list. North Brewing leads with lagers and experimental sours, plus rotating IPAs and stouts like Twinkle Pony Tiramisu (toasted coconut, almonds, vanilla). The brewery is Rainbow Registered — Canada's national accreditation for 2SLGBTQ+ welcoming businesses — and listed among Halifax's allied businesses on Discover Halifax. Cans and growlers available to go.
