Chicago, Illinois
Original Chicago arcade bar — free-play classics and pinball since 2012.
The original Replay, and one of the bars that launched Chicago's entire arcade bar movement when it opened in 2012. Founded by Mark Kwiatkowski, who expanded the concept from a single room to a full venue by 2013 and went on to open multiple locations. The Lincoln Park spot is the biggest in the Replay family, with a massive collection of free-to-play arcade classics (Pac-Man, Gauntlet, Ms. Pac-Man, skeeball, air hockey, bubble hockey) plus a wall of pinball machines — Indiana Jones, Terminator 2, and rotating titles. The warm industrial setting is split between a main bar area and a larger upstairs space, both of which transform regularly into wildly immersive pop-up experiences that have become a Chicago institution. Past and current themes have included Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, Friends, and a Simpsons Treehouse of Gore with a full Moe's Tavern replica upstairs.
