Chicago, Illinois
Cocktail bar by evening, dance club after 10, in the old Berlin space
The Belmont + Decibel is a two-part bar and club at 954 W Belmont Ave, steps from the Belmont Red Line stop, in the space that was Berlin nightclub until it closed in November 2023. HV Entertainment, which also runs Fantasy Nightclub, Bobby Loves, The Closet and Chicago Eagle, reopened it in spring 2026. Early in the evening it's The Belmont, a relaxed cocktail bar; after 10 p.m. a curtain pulls back on the dance floor and it becomes Decibel. Berlin's enclosed DJ booth and mirror wall are gone, replaced by a second bar along the dance floor, an extra raised dance stage, more seating and a new sound and light rig. The crowd is mixed, and Decibel bills itself as "Chicago's new home for late-night music," open until 4 a.m. most nights it runs.
